Clockwise from top left :
The Third Tiberium War Is Upon Us – Aaron Jones
Tiberium Bliss – Sheldon Dueck
Three Factions – Brandon Cady
Desolation – Spencer Hopping.

I like the bottom two very much by unfortunately they cannot be downloaded as these four wallpapers will only be available in the C&C3 Kane Edition.

As a consolation, EA has made the Honorable Mentions for the contest downloadable in 1600×1200 resolutions. Two of my favourites:

OldVersion.com

As a software junkie, I find that I often need to reinstall the older (and usually more lightweight) version of a software after trying out the latest and greatest version of a software or when the newer version comes bundled with adware.

OldVersion.com is a free archive of the older versions of many Windows software for nine categories – Internet (browsers like Opera, Firefox & download managers), Graphics (viewers like IrfanView and ACDSee and editors like Paint Shop Pro), Communication (IM clients like MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger), Multimedia (video and audio players like Winamp, RealPlayer and multimedia plugins like Macromedia Flash), File-Sharing, Utilities (Acrobat Reader, Java Runtimes, WinRAR, WinZip – I presume shareware versions), Security (Ad-aware) and Enterprise and FTP software.

Very valuable resource for software junkies and for system engineers and software developers like me who sometimes need to deploy a specific version of software (very few though e.g Java Runtimes, DirectX as most are for end users)

Currently 1455 versions of 131 programs are available at www.OldVersion.com as of today.

Favourite Illustrators of Warhammer 40,000 (III) – Karl Kopinski

Karl Kopinski’s official website at www.karlkopinski.com showcases some of his works for the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer universes.

Some of his more well-known artwork for Warhammer 40,000 include the cover art for Codex Imperial Guard and Codex Catachans as well as the cover art for the Warhammer 40,000 : Dawn of War Winter Assault expansion pack and Fire Warrior games.

I like the way he draws the Imperial Guard in the same way they are depicted in the Warhammer 40,000, as determined and stubborn defenders of the Imperium of Man while highlighting the fact that each Guardsman is only human with real emotions like anger, fear and desperation.

Korean MMORPG Wallpapers (II) – Dragon Raja

Dragon Raja is a Korean MMORPG by Barunson Interactive. The character designs are a nice departure from the usual cutesy anime designs popular in Korean MMORPG like Ragnarok Online. The concept art for the different classes in this game look tougher and more rugged than the generic handsome/pretty characters in other games.

Lost Odyssey X06 Trailer

Lost Odyssey is a RPG slated for release on the Xbox 360 by Mistwalker Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. The game is set in a time with both medieval and industrial influences.

In this trailer fox Microsoft X06, human warriors clad in medieval-style golden armor charge futilely against a unrelenting horde of enemy warriors. The technologically superior foes seem to be robotic warriors as they march with synchronized efficiency and fight with calculated precision and superhuman skills.

Charging human warriors are mercilessly cut down by thrown swords before they manage to reach the enemy lines. Once the battle lines are joined, the human warriors are brutally dispatched with ease by their highly-skilled opponents.

As the human warriors make a final desperate charge against the enemy, the camera pans to Kaim, the player-controlled character, as he cleaves and hacks his way to the heart of the enemy horde with a massive sword. Surrounded by the enemy warriors, he eventually summons lava from the heavens to sweep away both allies and foes alike.

Later in the video when the lava melts an enemy warrior, a non-humanlike skull is shown indicating that the enemy troops are not robots but possibly some alien race.
