Coding Horror – Jeff Atwood

Everything else on the right © Jeff Atwood ;)

I highly recommend Jeff Atwood’s Coding Horror for coders or anyone interested in computing technology, especially user interface design. (Although coders will benefit more from Coding Horror than non-coders IMHO) There’s tons of interesting and thought-provoking stuff on why certain things are the way they are in the fields in programming and computer-related technology.

I like Jeff’s writing style – it’s great when someone can write and explain technical stuff clearly with resorting to excessive technical babble. Besides, most of the posts are more about making the most out of technology instead of simply extolling the virtues of a certain tech over another which makes Coding Horror stand out from the other technical blogs out there.

Four useful recent posts about computing technology in general in the Coding Horror.

I started saving images recently in PNG with the PNGOUT plugin in Irfanview instead of JPG after reading Jeff’s comprehensive article on the size benefits of the PNG format. Thanks Jeff!
