Favourite Illustrators of Warhammer 40,000 (IV) - Andrea Uderzo

Does Andrea Uderzo sound unfamiliar to you? How about the pencil drawing by Andrea for Codex : Witchhunters below? (Available as a wallpaper from Games Workshop UK here)

I didn’t know Andrea Uderzo before chancing on the Dark Millenium card database a year ago (Recently just returned to the site and taking a closer look at the artwork. Saw this great picture of Fabius Bile - a rarely illustrated Chaos Space Marine special character and knew I had to write something about the artist involved)

Some of my favourite Warhammer 40,000 art - you can view the larger versions of these artwork at his deviantArt website together with Warhammer artwork and other fantasy art (non GW-related but still great stuff nonetheless - love Cripta Dimenticata (Forgotten Crypt?) :)

I don’t usually like Warhammer Fantasy art, but I’ll make an exception this time :) “Yeti” for Warhammer Fantasy CCG “War Cry”. Set: Harbingers of War. Specially for the Gnome :)

Thanks to Andrea Uderzo for giving permission to post thumbnails of his artwork from deviantArt :).

Other favourite illustrators of Warhammer 40,000:
(I) - Adrian Smith
(II) - Neil Roberts
(III) - Karl Kopinski

A fantastic post on a brill artist. Oh, and thanks a ton for the plug :)

BTW, think Andrea Uderzo is somehow related to Uderzo of Asterix fame?

Hmm, I think you have to email him to find out :)

Glad that you like the artwork. I hope to expose more fantastic game-related artwork and illustrators to a wider audience especially gamers via this blog.
