The IMI Uzi is a well-known weapon due to its appearance in countless movies and games.
The original Uzi was designed by Uziel Gal and entered service in 1954. There were smaller versions of the Uzi, the Mini-Uzi (introduced in 1981) and the Micro-Uzi (1982).
