CellFactor: Revolution Trailer

The CellFactor: Revolution trailer is one of the biggest game trailers I have downloaded although it’s still a far cry from the Metal Gear Solid 4 E3 2006 video which weighs in at a hefty 376 MB.

This high-res (1280×720) gameplay video is mainly a showcase for the crazy physics engine in the game jointly developed by Immersion Games, Artificial Studios and Timeline Interactive. More realistic physics engine = Bigger explosions with extra debris and snazzier graphics effects :)

The graphics are excellent but nothing extraordinary and the trailer gives me the feeling that the whole game is simply a tech demo for the Reality Engine ;p

I believe that the 3 mins of gameplay footage was probably captured from a high end PC with a AGEIA PhysX Physics Accelerator card as any CPU would probably slow to a crawl processing some of the flying debris and other physics effects shown in the trailer.

Here’s a quick rundown on the three character profiles available in-game:

Guardian – very strong and fast and able to dual wield weapons. Doesn’t seem to use any psionic powers in the trailer.

Black Ops – human supersoldier who can hold a weapon in one hand and can use psionic powers from the other.

Bishop – a genetically-enhanced warrior armed only with telekinetic and psionic powers from her bare hands. Can fly.

In the future, Black Ops no longer rocket jump when they can use their psionic powers :D

Download the 263 MB trailer at the official CellFactor : Revolution site. You’ll need a video player that supports XviD playback though.

The entire CellFactor : Revolution game can also be downloaded for free (860 MB) although a AGEIA PhysX card is required for games in three of the more PPU-intensive arenas. Non PhysX owners get to play in the other two arenas :( More about CellFactor : Revolution in this post here.
