Fighting Fantasy Wallpapers

Recently revived my interest in gamebooks after discovering Mithrandr’s Gamebook Grotto.

Fighting Fantasy are one (the only?) of the surviving series of the gamebook industry, currently being republished by Wizard Books with new covers.

I still prefer the old covers because of the intricate details of the cover artwork - compare the artwork of the original FF #14: Temple of Terror and the more simplified current artwork for Temple of Terror republished as FF #19 below.

After :|

There’s a total of 23 wallpapers at the official site at Fighting Fantasy.com, created from the cover art of the first umm, 23 books. Well worth a look if you’re into fantasy artwork.

My favourite one has to be the artwork for FF#3 Deathtrap Dungeon by Mel Grant below. I love artwork of skeletons and undead ;)

Can’t wait for them to upload the wallpaper for FF #25 Sword of the Samurai. The skeletal samurai on the cover art for the Sword of the Samurai looks cool!

If you like skeleton / undead artwork, check out the concept art for the Korean MMORPG, Soul of the Ultimate Nation, which has some of the best concept artwork for undead creatures in any game I have seen (yet).

Excellent, excellent. Even better than the DnD ones you posted!

Huh, I thought it was the other way round? FF artwork is more traditional fantasy I suppose whereas some of the DnD stuff border on the weird stuff like the mindflayers - me like weird :)
