Weapons in Ghost Recon : Advanced Warfighter 2
All the fuss because of this official wallpaper from Ghost Recon : Advanced Warfighter 2

When I saw this Ghost’s rifle in this wallpaper (available here), I had to find out its name because it wasn’t the FN SCAR from the previous installment (stock is different) or the US Army M4A1 (charging/cocking handle is at a different location).
It’s actually a Rx4 Storm rifle by Beretta, probably better known for their Beretta 92FS pistol in use by the US Army as the M9A1 pistol.
While the original Ghost Recon : Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) featured a mix of firearms from various manufacturers including FN Herstal with their prototype FN SCAR and FN Mk 48 LMG (derived from the FN M249 SAW), the latest installment of the Ghost Recon : Advanced Warfighter franchise features an all Beretta armory for the pistols to the carbines and rifles (at least from the info at official site) Can’t really confirm anything because I don’t have the actual game or demo yet – not that it would run on my crappy PC.
Below are the 3D renders of the x4 Storm series in GRAW2.

The Px4 Storm Pistol with suppressor. Read more at Borelli Consulting or Modern Firearms.

The Cx4 Storm Carbine with reflex sights. Despite Beretta calling it a carbine, it fires only pistol ammunition (sounds more like a SMG to me). Read more at Borelli Consulting or Modern Firearms.

The Rx4 Storm Rifle with XL7 underslung grenade launcher. More at Modern Firearms. Fires 6.8mm rounds in-game whereas it only fires the 5.56mm in real life.
There’s also more information and specifications on the real-life x4 Storm weapons in PDF formats at Beretta’s official website here.
Whereas the original GRAW featured a more futuristic mix of prototype (FN SCAR) and next-generation weapons like the futuristic Crye Associates MR-C, the weapons in GRAW2 seem to be a more conservative selection such the x4 Storm series which are already in production. Almost makes you think that GRAW2 is an advertorial for Beretta:)
Read more about the various in-game weapons at the official Ghost Recon : Advanced Warfighter and Ghost Recon : Advanced Warfighter 2 sites.

these are cool but whare is the mr-c or mp5 !!!!!!!
There’s MR-C in GRAW2? I haven’t played GRAW2 before – only tried the original GRAW demo with the MR-C. Ran far too slowly on my crappy PC for me – most likely GRAW2 will be even worse
