Wallpapers Wednesday : Cover Art & Wallpapers for Forgotten Realms Books

If you read the Forgotten Realms novels, you may be interested to know that there is a wonderful collection online featuring cover art that were produced but not used in the final versions.

The “secret” images gallery at Forgetten Realms : The Library has a large collection of these artwork together with the actual published cover art.

Above are two of my favourite unpublished covers – The Legend of Drizzt : Starless Night (left) and The Legend of Drizzt : The Halfling’s Gem (right), both written by R.A Salvatore.

If you like the art style of Forgotten Realms, you can download wallpapers at Wizards of the Coast’s Desktop Wallpaper HQ at www.wizards.com. Below is a preview of the wallpapers for The Thousand Orcs, also written by R.A Salvatore.

Nabokov… interesting … gonna look it up later … you do read a lot, don’t you?

I read mainly non-fiction nowadays with the occassional Black Library sci-fi or fantasy excerpts from their new books. Must say that I favour a good book over the computer anytime :)
