Games Thursday : E3 2007 Goodies – Call of Duty 4 Trailer
This Call of Duty 4 trailer for E3 2007 is composed of in-game footage and has a really nice cinematic feel to it. The first half feels like a slow-paced graphics showcase but all hell breaks loose after 1:15 mins.
There are quite a lot of little details in this video especially when you play it in slow motion.

Fast-roping from a helicopter (nice camera angle for the second one)

© Infinity Ward
Incredibly accurate suppression fire from the boarding party’s helicopter

Room clearing

© Infinity Ward
Some frantic close quarter firefights

Very intrigued with this pair of screen captures – two soldiers with M4/M16s with another in Soviet/Russian style winter uniform and AK running together …
monents later the soldier in winter dress gets shot down (backstabbed?)

© Infinity Ward
Ground level view and bird’s-eye view of the same scene – the latter probably from the targetting sights from a AC-130U Spooky gunship. No other airborne weapons system has a 25mm and 40mm cannons and a 105mm howitzer onboard

Snipers … always a favourite in videogames

© Infinity Ward
A lone sniper under attack from a Russian attack helicopter (looks like a Mil Mi-28 Havoc)

© Infinity Ward
Note the camouflage detail on this soldier – can’t differentiate whether it’s the Soviet VSR Desert/Mountain pattern or the British DPM pattern though.

Soldiers taking turns to fire behind a parapet

© Infinity Ward
Chaotic nightfighting

Not sure which conflict had men in tracksuits wielding Uzis
This game may be much closer to reality than we think (See this IGN interview)

I’m thankful they decided to have CoD4 take place in a modern setting. WWII shooters are getting a tad bit boring.
tracksuits.. .Kosovo?
Yeah, Kenny, modern settings will probably mean more toys to play with – hopefully there will be night vision and thermal vision goggles like Rainbow Six Last Vegas
@Elderly: Really? Gotta look that up. Thanks a lot for the tip-off, friend
