Wallpapers Wednesday : Drawn To Be Alive (UT2004 Mod)

The wallpapers for today feature the cute little paper figure Billy Bown from the UT2004 mod Drawn to Be Alive. This mod by a group of French developers is currently a work in progress and promises innovative gameplay through controlling a 2D player character in a 3D world powered by the UT2004 engine. Many thanks to Gnome’s post on the Introspect Mod for UT2004 for triggering fond memories of Drawn to Be Alive.

Billy Bown being the animated paper doodle that he is, can hide behind objects like cupboards to evade curious humans out to capture, collect or destroy paper toys like him, or even disguise himself within his surroundings by appearing to be part of a cubicle decoration, poster or graffiti. However, being only a thin piece of paper, he’s quite fragile and flammable as seen in the teaser video which showcases some of the unique gameplay mechanics in this mod – a 2006 Editors’ Choice for the Upcoming Mod category at Mod DB.

Billy can also flutter from ledge to ledge since he’s so light or fold himself to move around in tight spaces.
