Thanks! The game’s rather hard I must add – I have been playing against random roookies with 100% handicap for the opponent for supplemental income and experience (very minimal) and still haven’t got enough money to completely fix one of my titans which was disabled in the second or third campaign mission.

At least my squad now has two novices and one green jock with 3 recon titans and 2 light titans (and only 2 in proper working order )

By the way, I just realized that you can save a mission with the F7 or F8 key. Check the keybindings with F1 – was playing one of the campaign missions into the early morning as I didn’t know missions could be saved halfway into the mission.

Nice, accurate write-up. As a former Battletech geek from 20 years ago (time flies), I was excited to discover this game a couple of weeks ago. Pretty dang good game, though it has a steep learning curve. Took me 2 full missions to figure out that you could have attack and move orders operating simultaneously.

Hopefully with the freeware version, the matrix games forums will get more hits and folks will generate some user-created campaigns to supplement the provided ones!

Yeah, it’s a real time sink if you’re into Battletech and mecha. Sucked up 3 hours of my time last weekend when I was only supposed to be taking screenshots for this post.

Not really my type of game, but it does look pretty complex. .
Not bad for free either!!
