Public Service Announcement : Cyclone Relief Myanmar
Just got this link today from one of my Myanmar friends working in Singapore who’s helping to raise funds for the victims of Cyclone Nargis which swept through Myanmar weeks ago.
For those who are concerned about where their donations will go to, below’s Cyclone Relief Myanmar’s objectives quoted directly from their official blog:
• To provide direct distribution of food, water, necessities and medical assistance to the people
• To participate in reconstruction works such as houses, water supplies, schools etc.
• To coordinate with other groups/associations to offer direct assistance to the peopleWe promise all your donations will go 100% directly to the people in Myanmar who are suffering from the disaster. So, no layer of layers.
They have teams of volunteers in Myanmar who will directly distribute donated items and relief to the people. Updates on the current status of their relief efforts are regularly updated on their blog.

Natural disasters are hitting like crazy every year now… This and the earth quake in China.
I could’nt imagine going through something like that. Doesn’t even seem right that it has to happen to anyone… We the people of the world do enough killing as it is. Let alone some natural disasters!
Yeah I agree wholeheartedly. I donated mainly because living in a place where me and my loved ones are relatively safe from these disasters makes me more aware how fortunate some of us are and that’s why we should help and support the less fortunate.
