Military Tuesday : Steve Mumford’s Baghdad Journal
I know this discovery is some four years late but I just caught this off Ian Berry’s blog recently. Better late but never right?
New York artist Steve Mumford wrote and illustrated 16 journal entries at Artnet about his experiences in Iraq from August 2003 to December 2004 during the then-ongoing US invasion.

His journal entries and the accompanying sketches and paintings provide a fascinating insight into the lives of American soldiers and Iraqi civilians from his journeys both alone and with US Army units on their patrols and raids (including one a counterfeit operation with a scout platoon from the 2nd Cavalry Regiment)
