Wallpapers Wednesday : King Richard I The Lionheart & Saladin (Medieval Total War 2)
Below are two wallpapers from the Total War Fansite Kit (FSK) depicting two of the most well-known personalities during the time of the Crusades - King Richard I of England (The Lionheart) and his Muslim adversary Salah al Din (Saladin).

© Creative Assembly
The portrayal of Saladin in his mail coif is historically accurate and almost similiar to the illustration by the late Angus McBride on the cover of Osprey’s Men at Arms 171 - Saladin And The Saracens.

King Richard I, on the other hand, is illustrated wearing plate greaves and gauntlets instead of the common mail armour of that time. I’m not sure if plate armour actually existed or was commonplace during that time though.

It’s funny why Creative Assembly chose to include these two wallpapers in the FSK instead of offering it for direct download on their official site though.
Nothing interesting other than the wallpapers in the FSK (which incidentally only contains Medieval Total War 2 assets despite the name Total War FSK)
The contents of the FSK are listed as below:
6 banners
2 high resolution box art scans (both depicting King Richard I)
49 90×90 and 100×100 avatars
4 corporate logos (Creative Assembly, Medieval Total War 2, Sega)
42 screenshots
1 launch trailer
6 wallpapers in 1024×768 and 800×600 resolutions

Actually, that’s more than enough for me. Great find!
That’s enough? You’re easily contented, aren’t you? Or have you been playing Rockstar Legends too much again?
love shogun total War, never played this.. but suitbly impressed with wallpaper.. and thankfully they know how to put a fan kit together.. thanks Roys
I bought Rome : Total War recently and was actually looking for a FSK for Rome Total War instead.
Shogun Total War was nice but since each clan had access to the same type of units, it became bored after a while.
Medieval Total War 1/2 are the best in the series for the sheer variety of troop choices IMHO.
your recommendation is now securely lodged in my cerebellum… just need to get a cosier pc set up….
Hey Elderly, wait … I hear they’re going to release an expansion pack for Medieval Total War 2 … wait for the MTW2 Gold pack then
No, no, not playing, just being humble and all…
