Found this picture of a tracked transporter-erector-launcher (TEL) for the infamous SS-1 Scud-B ballistic missile, better known for its use by the Iraqi army as a terror weapon against Israeli cities during the 1991 Gulf War . This 1983 artwork happens to be the illustration for September 2007, one of the twelve art pieces for the recently updated DIA Military Art Collection 2007 Calendar series. Before seeing this image, I didn’t know that the original TEL was not the wheeled 8×8 MAZ-543P/9P117M truck (below) commonly shown in news reports of that time (see BBC article on the Scud missiles ) but a tracked vehicle like the one above (derived from the IS-2 tank, one of the last Russian heavy tanks to see service in WW2). Antes de ver esta imagen, no sabía que el TEL original no era el ruedas 8 × 8 MAZ-543P/9P117M camión (abajo) comúnmente se muestra en informes de noticias de la época (véase el artículo de BBC en la misiles Scud), sino una oruga vehículo similar a la anterior (derivadas de la SI-2 tanques, uno de los últimos tanques pesados ruso para ver de servicio en WW2).
