Found this picture of a tracked transporter-erector-launcher (TEL) for the infamous SS-1 Scud-B ballistic missile, better known for its use by the Iraqi army as a terror weapon against Israeli cities during the 1991 Gulf War . Before seeing this image, I didn’t know that the original TEL was not the wheeled 8×8 MAZ-543P/9P117M truck (below) commonly shown in news reports of that time (see BBC article on the Scud missiles ) but a tracked vehicle like the one above (derived from the IS-2 tank, one of the last Russian heavy tanks to see service in WW2). Prima di vedere questa immagine, non sapevo che l'originale TEL non è stato l'ruote 8 × 8 MAZ-543P/9P117M camion (sotto), comunemente indicato nella cronaca di quel tempo (cfr. articolo della BBC sui missili Scud), ma uno di cingoli veicolo come quella sopra (derivati da SI-2 serbatoio, uno degli ultimi pesanti carri armati russi per visualizzare servizio in WW2).
