Sabertooth UFS Wallpapers Update

The website for the Ultimate Fighting System CCG by Sabertooth Games has been updated with new wallpapers for Street Fighter : The Dark Path (8), Soul Calibur III : Soul Arena (7), King of Fighters 2006 (7) and Samurai Shodown V (5). The update also means the links in my previous post here are broken :(

The highlights of the new wallpapers are again the Soul Calibur III : Soul Arena ones. The character artwork for Mitsurugi and Taki are excellent but the wallpapers would be nicer with a cleaner design and less gaudy colours.

The Samurai Shodown V wallpapers take second place. Two of my favourites, Yoshitora (six! swords) and Hanzo the ninja.

King of Fighters 2006 wallpapers are also available on the same page as the Samurai Shodown V wallpapers, mainly for the major characters like Alba, Kyo Kusanagi and Mai Shiranui.

Last but not least, we have the Street Fighter : The Dark Path wallpapers for characters like Evil Ryu and T.Hawk (haven’t seen this character for a long long time)

If you’re looking for the older wallpapers, they’re still in their respective sections - the original Soul Calibur III’s Mitsurugi wallpaper below is still my favourite - I love samurai characters!

Soul Calibur III UFS Wallpapers

Some Soul Calibur III related wallpapers from the Ultimate Fighting System collectable card game (CCG) developed by Sabretooth Games, who also produces Warhammer 40,000 Dark Millenium CCG (Check out the card database in this previous post about Warhammer 40,000 Dark Millenium CCG Card database)

Seven wallpapers featuring the characters from Soul Calibur III (Mitsurugi, Taki, Nightmare, Astaroth, Voldo, Cassandra and Raphael) are available from the Soul Calibur III UFS site in 800×600 to 1280×1024 resolutions.

Two of my favourites : Mitsurugi (I love samurai!) and Cassandra.

Wallpapers for Street Fighter UFS (also by Sabretooth Games) are available from the official Street Fighter UFS site. Wallpaper art for the Street Fighter UFS characters is IMHO much less detailed than Soul Calibur III UFS’s :(

Rezolution : Dark Tomorrow Artwork - Aberrant Games

Some cover artwork from Rezolution: Dark Tomorrow, a miniatures game by Aberrant Games.

An excerpt from the introduction at the official Rezolution : Dark Tommorrow site.

“2175: A Dark Tomorrow…

Earth has become a dystopian nightmare, ruled by corrupt corporations and self-serving politicians, where the wealthy elite live in sealed cities to protect themselves from the ravages of the outside world.

In the outer cities and wastelands gangs rule the streets with an iron fist, while worse terrors lurk in the dark corners of the earth.

Industrial espionage has reached unprecedented levels, where small teams of elite warriors infiltrate rival companies to steal or spread mayhem, fighting in the real and virtual world. These invisible wars rage unopposed from the streets of Earth to the mountains of Mars in a deadly game of winner takes all.

A new phase in the evolution of mankind has begun, though shunned by many and branded mutants, their numbers are growing.

The embattled forces of order, desperately trying to achieve peace and stability throughout the system, while fighting the corruption from within.”

There are lot of influences in this game - Clockwise from top left : Mystical and oriental - APAC Ninjas and APAC Crew (top right), sci-fi influences - CSO Troopers, as well as cyberpunk - Ronin and Dravani and the mandatory take on the mecha/walker theme (In this game, they’re known as warbots)

Love the way Aberrant Games fuses all the diverse influences into a coherent product - witness the fusion of sci-fi, cyberpunkish and military elements in the excellent cover artwork for the Rezolution : Shadow Wars Core Starter Set.

Rackham AT-43 Wallpapers

Three wallpapers released for the recently released Rackham miniatures game, AT-43.

Trauma was the starting point of a new age after the climate and orbit patterns of the planet Ava were drastically changed due to battles between the invading machine-like Therians and human forces on the planet who eventually prevailed and drove the Therians off. In AT-43 (43 Years After Trauma), the human forces start their counterattack and take up the offensive against the Therians.

Actually the primary draw of this game for me was the calibre of some of the artists for the game - Adrian Smith (previous post), Karl Kopinski (previous post), Kev Walker, Paolo Parente, etc.

Two of the four promotional wallpapers for the game.

© Rackham.

The first one (also the box art for Operation Damocles boxset) seems to be by Karl Kopinski (The faces on the U.N.A White Stars have the distinctive style of Mr Kopinski).

The second one looks like it’s done by Adrian Smith. Not too sure about this one though as it’s uncredited on the wallpaper.

You can download the wallpapers here.
